1. Reason dictates that we and all that we see cannot be an accident.

Logically we are finite creatures living finite lives in space and time which are both by their nature infinite (have no end). The current scientific theory of a ‘big bang’ as the origin of all does not make the problem go away. Before the ‘big bang’ there had to be something to go ‘bang’ and a space to go ‘bang’ in. Evolution does not solve the problem. The laws of probability weigh heavily against the intricacy and interdependence of living organisms that we see. Evolution is just a theory for which there is no observable or experimental proof.

A much more satisfactory (and credible) explanation is that of a Creator who exists outside of his creation in a way that we can’t understand. A finite creation by an infinite Creator is a much more reasonable explanation. Further it gives us a hope of eternal life in the future available by the written promises of the Creator himself.

2. The Bible is the proof that God exists.

The only information we have about God is what he has chosen to reveal to us. This revelation is given in what is called in English the ‘Bible’. It consists of Old and New Testaments with both claim to be given by direct inspiration of God.

3. The integrity of the Bible supports inspiration by the God described in it.

The integrity of the contents written by different writers over a period of some four thousand years proves beyond reasonable doubt that it was written by inspiration. There is no other book that compares with it. Nothing that it says has ever been disproved. It contains prophecies which have been and are still being fulfilled to the letter. It explains why we are here, why we die and how we can be saved from death and have eternal life.

God made the earth to fill it with his glory.

Numbers 14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

4. Prophecies contained in the Bible are so specific and accurate that they could only have been written with the foreknowledge ascribed to God.

The Jewish nation is a living witness to the accuracy of Biblical prophecy.

Deuteronomy 28:64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. 65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: 66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

Lay this against the history of the Jews since AD70.

Jeremiah 30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

The prophecies extend past our own time to the last days.

Hosea 3:4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: 5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

Ezekiel 37:22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

5. Jesus Christ is the best attested fact of history and his recorded life and teachings place the Old and New Testaments on a unique foundation of unbroken truth from one God.

John 10:35... the scripture cannot be broken;

Luke 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

The climax and focus of the scripture is Jesus Christ the son of God and son of David. He it is who is destined to be the ‘one king’ of Ezekiel 37:22.
Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

The life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the best attested fact of history – nothing else in history comes close to it as assured fact. Psalm 22, written some 1000 years before it happened, describes his crucifixion:

Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. 17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. 18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Christ quotes from verse Psalm 22:1 in his dying moments.

Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?...

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, ... My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

If we want to know about God and who he is we could have no better witness than the recorded words of Jesus. There has never been a more truthful and reliable man. Jesus tells us that God is the creator.

Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

This comes from Genesis:

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

We have it then on Christ’s authority that the account in Genesis is reliable and the God of the Old Testament is the Creator.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Here he tells us that every word that God has recorded is important if we want life.

In Luke 11 he tells us that God is in heaven.
Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

If we would approach God the only access we have is through his son.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If we would learn about God, his character, plan and purpose it is all available for us to read in the Bible. The purpose of this site is to encourage people to read and understand the Bible for themselves. The promise it holds out is equality with the angels and eternal life in the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ his son.

The evil history of apostate Christian churches should not deflect us from examining the gospel message for ourselves.

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I hope you have found this helpful.

God bless!
