It doesn't matter who you are or who they are. Asking someone not to use profanity in your presence is similar to asking someone not to smoke in your presence. You can take the person aside and ask them politely to not do it and tell them that although you are sure they don't mean to be offensive, you find the use of such language distressing. I do that all the time. Most people have responded positively because they don't like it either but find themselves in the grip of a a bad habit. Some people are not even conscious of doing it.  If you find someone is agressively profane, then excuse yourself and let them know the reason why you cannot remain in their company.
