Drinking alcohol is not wrong in itself. However, drinking alcohol to excess (drunkenness) is wrong.
Jesus drank wine: Luke 7:34 (not to mention the last supper). He created wine for the wedding at Cana in Galilee - see John 2:1-11.
Paul encouraged Timothy to drink wine for its medicinal value: 1 Timothy 5:23
Drunkenness, however, is forbidden: Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:21; Romans 13:13
