Bible Questions and Answers

Browse all the questions that have been asked at thisisyourbible.com and see their answers, read the most recent questions and answers, or have a look at some prepared questions and answers on key Bible themes.

We all begin in the same position, with the same questions.

  • Is there a God?
  • Were we created by God?
  • What is his purpose?
  • Everybody dies – Why?
  • Is there life after death?
  • Did Jesus exist?
  • How do we know?

The sensible solution is to read the Bible for ourselves with an open mind. It is admittedly a large book and a systematic reading plan is to be recommended. A free Bible study course is available on this website.

Here is a link to a very useful website which will help you in your daily, systematic reading of the Bible:

The Bible is made up of scriptures written by some 40 authors over a period of some 1500 years. There is a uniform message without contradictions from authors who had little reason or opportunity for collusion.

It contains prophecy with verifiable fulfilments — a major one is the return of the Jews to Israel in my lifetime.

Jesus Christ is the subject of many prophecies in the Old Testament.

The Christian Church would not have even begun if he had not been raised from the dead.

His moral teachings are second to none and the prize held out for belief and obedience to the gospel he preached is resurrection to eternal life in the kingdom of God.

The prize on offer is well worth making an effort to understand the gospel for ourselves.

God in his wisdom caused the scriptures to be written down and copied with great care. We have copies available in our own language. We can read the Bible and decide for ourselves whether it is all fictitious nonsense or a uniform message of salvation. We should not rely upon other people to tell us what it says.

Our life is the most valuable thing that we possess, and eternal life is the most valuable offer we will ever come across. We have nothing to lose by reading the Bible (except a few hours of our mortal life) and a great deal to gain if it commends itself to us as the genuine word of God.
