In your opinion, which prophecy fulfilled in Jesus is the most remarkable? Do these fulfilled prophecies impact your belief in the Bible as God’s Word?

The following are some of the prophecies fulfilled in Jesus’ birth, his life and sacrifice, resurrection from the dead, and ascent to God’s right hand.

Genesis 3:15; Genesis 22:18 Genesis 49:10; Deuteronomy 18:18; Isaiah 11:1,2; Isaiah 11:10; 1 Chronicles 17:11-14; Psalm 89:27; Micah 5:2; Isaiah 8:14; Daniel 9:24-27; Zechariah 9:9; Isaiah 42:1-4; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 53:3; Isaiah 53:10-12; Psalm 22:16; Psalm 22:18; Psalm 110:1; Psalm 118:22; Jeremiah 31:31,32; Malachi 3:1

The most remarkable is that of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead to sit at God’s right hand. This confirms the promise of resurrection from the dead to eternal life implicit in the promise to Abraham of an eternal inheritance on the earth, made possible by his seed (singular).

Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This of course depended on Jesus’ sinless life and sacrifice for the remission of our sins. For me the fulfilled prophecies are the proof that the scriptures which make up the Bible are in truth the word of God. All doctrines can be tested against the scriptures and the false weeded out from the true.

As Paul tells Timothy:

2 Timothy 3:16,17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Jesus upbraids his two disciples on the road to Emmaus:

Luke 24:25-27 O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

I hope you find this helpful.

God bless,
