Why did God choose the third day for Jesus to be raised?
Some time after a person dies the body begins to corrupt. Corruption generally is underway by the fourth day. This is seen in Martha’s words to Jesus at the tomb of her brother Lazarus.John 11:39
The prophecy concerning Jesus was that he would not experience corruption. Psalms 16:10
On the day of Pentecost Peter tells the Jews that Jesus would die but not see corruption.Acts 2:22-31
We might reasonably suppose that God raised Jesus early on the third day before his body could begin to corrupt.
