What is the formula for baptism? Does it matter was said just before a baptism?

There is no set formula for baptism.  One possibility is that given in Matthew 28:19. In the Acts of the Apostles, people were typically baptized into the "Name of the Lord Jesus Christ."

There is no set formula to be used at a baptism.  When I baptize someone, I typically say, "I baptize you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and entry into the household of God."

I hope you have found this helpful.

God bless!
