A visitor writes,

"IS THE BIBLE RELLY MENT FOR WE THE SINNERS,"

Thank you for asking a question on This is your Bible.

The Bible is meant for sinners because all mankind are sinners.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Adam sinned and caused sin and death to pass upon all of his progeny. We all die because we all sin.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

The Bible is God’s revelation of why we die.It explains that death is the end of us.We return to dust.

Ecclesiastes 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

That there is no conscious existence after death – the Bible says nothing of the commonly held belief of ‘immortal souls’.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Because we are in this situation and cannot help ourselves God fathered a son with our nature who by strength of character lived a life without sin.His life is recorded in the New Testament. He voluntarily sacrificed his life to provide a way whereby God could remit our sins and give us eternal life.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Because Christ did no sin God raised him from the dead, gave him immortality and set him at his right hand until the day that God has appointed for his return.

Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

This is the gospel preached in the New Testament. It is good news for sinners.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

This is the choice that we as sinners have.If we believe the gospel, repent, are baptised into Christ and live by his commandments we will be raised from the dead to eternal life at Christ’s return. If we refuse to believe we will remain dead forever.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Paul explains what will happen in the future.

1 Corinthians 15: 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.  This will be the fulfilment of God’s declared purpose with the earth.

Numbers 14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
