The reason why it is such a challenge today is that, unlike previous generations, we are surrounded by a popular culture which is totally obsessed with sexuality. Our sexual urge is necessary for the procreation of the species but that urge has been exploited by marketers to the point where we are living in a constant state of sexual titillation. This is not God's fault, it is the fault of our depraved society which is preoccupied with sensuality of all kinds.

You must ask yourself when did members of our society stop becoming "citizens" with the connotations of discipline and responsibility implied by that word, and start becoming "consumers" whose focus in life is on the satisfaction of personal desire? That's what we have become. Jesus said that as it was in the days of Noah so would it be in the days just prior to his return. Read Genesis 6. The world of Noah's day was characterized by corruption and violence. I think we have reached such a scale of corruption and violence that would shock and amaze even Noah!

Following the Godly principles of life portrayed in the Bible will allow you to turn away from the worldly babel of temptation. It will give you the means of channeling your sexual energy into productive activities until you find the one who will be your life's partner and with whom you may share the joy of love and unity in a God-blessed expression of your sexuality in a deeply satisfying marriage.
