I make the assumption that you are referring to organisations such as Freemasonry, Orange Order and Odd Fellows etc.

The Bible says nothing about these kinds of organisations and there is no precedent set in the New Testament for Christian membership of such.

Those who believe the gospel and are baptised into Christ are baptised into one body and are required to live by the doctrines taught by Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Membership of a lodge requires the observance of manmade rules, some (if not most) of which will be at variance with the commandments of Christ.

Members of the body of Christ cannot become members of a Lodge, for no one can serve two masters.

We are called to be separate and not become involved in this world’s organisations.
