No one can predict the end of the world with any precision. We can know the signs of the times which point to the fact that his return will be in our generation but that is as close as we can get.
Jesus specifically tells us that no one can predict the "day and hour" - not even himself! So, if anyone tries to do that you automatically know that he or she is a false prophet.
Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Here is a similar verse:
Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
If you check the context of both passages, you will see that he is referring to his return to establish his Father's kingdom.
