Psalm 84:1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

The psalmist is longing for the day when the promised kingdom of God will be established on the earth.

Those who believe the gospel of the kingdom of God look forward earnestly to the day when Jesus Christ will return to establish it.

At that time, the faithful will be raised from the dead and given eternal life in the kingdom.

They will see God and live with him forever.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Psalms 65:4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Psalms 92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

We are planted in the house of the Lord by belief of the gospel and baptism into Jesus Christ.

By his sacrifice he has prepared a place for each one.

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

This time is described in Revelation

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

This kingdom is prophesied by Daniel.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

The earth will be filled with the glory of God which is his declared purpose.

Numbers 14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

Knowing the promises of God, the faithful look forward to the things that are not yet seen.

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
