Jesus told his disciples that only God knows the date of his return – which means that it cannot be worked out from scripture.

Matthew 24:36  But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Mark 13:32 But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

What we do find in scripture are prophecies of events which will be happening on the earth at the time of his return.

One of the clearest is those given in Ezekiel 38 & 39 and Zechariah 12 – 14. It concerns a future invasion of Israel which will result in the return of Christ. So we watch Israel.

In addition there is a prophecy in Revelation 17 concerning the nations of western Europe (ten horns) coming together under one government which will oppose Christ at his return. These ten horns are the same as the ten toed kingdoms of the prophecy in Daniel 2. This is a work in progress with the European Union. It should move faster now that the UK is out. So we also watch events in Europe.

I hope this helps
